i Love Hijab.

Assalamu alaykum,

Hijab does not only refer to covering your head (or your hair). It has different meanings; veil, cover etc. It's also used in the term: modesty. And modesty is a companion of Iman. Hadith to the nearest meaning.. Al Hayau min-al Iman ( Modesty is from Iman (Faith)). When one of them leave, the other follows.

So, why do i love Hijab? Well, as most sisters who wear Hijab must've noticed, we don't get the unwanted attention when wearing Hijab.. well, not all of the unwanted attention anyways :P. I feel so much more freedom when covering up, alhumdulillah. I don't feel like an object on display for people to admire and to think whether i'm worth buying or not.
And there IS freedom in hijab. Just because it requires modesty to be able to observe Hijab it does NOT mean we're caged. I mean, where's the freedom in wearing mini-skirts or walking around on a beach in a bikini? I don't see the freedom in that. All I see is women being judged or rejected by men who don't think they're 'worth it'. But me, alhumdulillah, i'm not looked at for my beauty or clothes.. when people see me in abaya on a very hot day they seem so shocked. Their Lebaas (dress code) changes just as the weather does.. mine? alhumdulillah, it stays the same all throughout the year & i'm happy with that =).
Wassalam,
your sis in Deen - Beyoutiful.
